See what the architect sees.
Listen to the intent behind the form. Resolve proportions, sightlines, finishes and junctions with the same care as the overall elevation, so the finished facade carries the character of the design.

TY UNION FACADE / MALAYSIA
We bring design intent and careful engineering together
for comfort, lower energy demand and a more open view of the world.
DESIGNED AROUND PEOPLE

We believe a facade should enrich life on both sides of the glass.
For the people inside, that means daylight, views and a closer connection to nature, with protection from heat, glare and weather. For the building, it means balancing energy demand, material choices and care over a long life.
We work to bring these needs together with the architect’s vision, carrying the design from its first expression into the smallest connection.

IN FOCUS / CAMPUS ARCHITECTURE
Glazing, shade and the water’s edge shape the architectural experience at the Petronas New Leadership Campus. Explore how the material palette and its interfaces contribute to that connection with the setting.

Beauty, environmental responsibility and dependable performance belong in the same conversation.
Listen to the intent behind the form. Resolve proportions, sightlines, finishes and junctions with the same care as the overall elevation, so the finished facade carries the character of the design.
Consider daylight, views, shading, insulation and weather protection together. Seek lower energy demand while keeping people connected to the changing light and life outside.
Consider responsible material use, durability, inspection, repair and future replacement from the outset. Carry that thinking through detailing, fabrication and installation, where long-term quality takes shape.
FROM THE TECHNICAL IMAGE ARCHIVE03 / ENGINEERING & VERIFICATION
Our ambition is a facade that keeps its beauty and performs through changing weather and everyday use. Detailed design, disciplined execution and project-specific verification are how that ambition becomes a practical responsibility.
Coordinate materials, connections, tolerances and installation sequence. The care in a drawing must continue through fabrication and site work.
Define the project’s performance criteria, review representative assemblies and use documented testing to assess the required behaviour.
Test standards and results will be added once the supporting reports are verified.
A MORE USEFUL FIRST CONVERSATION
Practical topics to take from concept into detailed design, procurement and long-term use.
Bring elevations, key sections and reference finishes. Discuss sightlines, panel module, corner conditions, colour and reflected appearance before fixing the detail.
Set project-specific requirements for wind, water, air leakage, thermal behaviour and acoustics. Distinguish glass values from whole-window or whole-facade performance.
Select representative joints, corners, openings and material transitions. Separate visual approval from performance testing and record the acceptance criteria.
Identify facade packages, supporting steel, waterproofing interfaces, access equipment and adjacent trades. Define responsibility before comparing quotations.
Review design release dates, samples, testing, procurement, site access and lifting constraints together. Confirm assumptions behind the programme and price.
Ask how glass, seals and panels can be inspected and replaced. Include access routes, maintenance information and spare-material requirements in the handover discussion.
A project location, building use, current drawings, approximate facade areas, proposed materials, target programme and the stage of design. Include performance criteria and any unusual geometry or access constraints.
Review the full assembly, including glazing, frames, spacers, thermal bridges and installation interfaces. The brochure includes low-energy residential references, but reported K-values do not establish a certified result for every project or system. Confirm the calculation boundary and supporting test reports.
Begin with the existing structure, anchor condition and measured geometry. Consider occupied-building constraints, temporary protection, removal sequence and how the replacement system connects to retained elements.
PRODUCTION & QUALITY
Quality planning covers incoming materials, fabrication, assembly and final inspection. These checkpoints help define the quality requirements for each facade package.

TY UNION FACADE / OUR PURPOSE

We want the buildings we help shape to offer a generous view of the world, a comfortable place within it and enduring value over time.
Based in Malaysia, TY Union Facade brings a considered approach to building envelopes: understand the architect’s ambition, look closely at how people will experience the space, and resolve the technical details with care.
For us, sustainability includes the energy a building uses, the materials it requires and how well its components can be maintained, repaired and replaced. Craftsmanship runs through that whole journey, from design development to the work on site.
